1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to provide our service:
- Device Information: A unique device identifier to maintain your account
- Character Data: AI-generated character profiles (personality, writing style) based on your imported chats
- Memory Summaries: Brief summaries of important information extracted from conversations (not the full chat content)
- Usage Data: Basic app usage statistics to improve our service
What we do NOT store on our servers:
- Your original chat export files
- Full conversation history with AI characters (stored locally on your device)
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Create and maintain AI characters based on your chat history
- Generate authentic responses that match the communication style of your characters
- Store conversation memories for contextual and meaningful interactions
- Process subscription payments and manage your account
- Send push notifications (only if enabled by you)
- Improve our AI models and service quality
3. Data Storage and Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- All data transmitted to our servers is encrypted using TLS
- Your conversation history is stored only on your device
- We use secure cloud infrastructure with strict access controls
- Only essential memory summaries are stored on our servers
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties except:
- AI Processing: Your messages are processed by our AI providers (OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) to generate responses. These providers have their own privacy policies and data handling practices.
- Payment Processing: Subscription payments are processed through Apple's App Store

- Deletion: Delete individual characters, memories, or all your data at any time

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your data:
- Character data is permanently deleted immediately
- Conversation memories are permanently deleted immediately
- Account data may be retained for up to 30 days for backup purposes

Remain is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
8. International Data Transfers
